This will be a consolidated source for MySQL information. Simpler than putting links into both 221 and 473 pages.
Added 11.20.2005: I'm working on a tutorial on MySQL as applied to the material in Chapter 25 of the text. I'll post updates as I make progress. I am using the outline and some of the content of the link shown below, with changes to fit our situation.
Added 11.18.2005: For a superb tutorial
on SQL from W3Schools go to
http://www.w3schools.com/sql/
This site has everything we will need for the final projects. The really cool
part is that you can practice on a simple database without the hassle of getting
MySQL running: Scroll down to Demo and click on the link there. (Seems not
always to work if I give you the full URL to that location.) There is a text
area where you can copy their examples, click on
See the Result, and up it comes.
Try anything you want, on the database they provide.
Added 11.19.2005: A course at the University of North Carolina covers what we are doing and more. The course website is packed with useful information; just mouse around and find anything useful. Some of the tutorial stuff is specific to the UNC computer setup, but not too much.
Added 11.19.2005: Great tutorial on MySQL, from basics to intermediate.
