Text: User-Centered Website Design: A Human-Computer Interaction Approach, McCracken and Wolfe, Prentice-Hall, 2004. But come to class before you buy. You will almost certainly want a book on PHP and MySQL. There are lots; I've looked at two, and have reservations about both. You will not need this book in the first week or two, so there is time to discuss this in class. Some class members may have books that they can report on.

Added 1.17.2007: Professor Grossberg taught this course in my absence for medical leave. Student teams did remarkably good projects. I extend my gratitude to Professor Grossberg, and congratulate the students. The next time I teach 473 I'm going to have to do a lot of work to come close to the excellence of this semester.

Added 10.22.2006: Professor Grossberg is doing things quite differently, and I vigorously applaud. I wish I could take the course. The entire class is involved in building a course website. Teams are organized, working on course  projects as well. The course website involves an amazing assemblage of up-to-date website building tools.
