In class on April 12 I distributed grade reports. Each student got a sheet of paper with all grades as I have them, together with a "Swiss Bank Account" number. (Swiss banks will open accounts identified only by a number, I'm told.) The numbers were generated with the help of Excel's RANDOM() function, and have no relation to your student ID. If you missed class or lost the piece of paper, email me. Also email me if you have any kind of questions about grades shown here. I'm doing this to minimize grade changes next summer and fall. Also, I may have discarded some changes made after class yesterday. Just email me.

NOTE added Weds Apr 25: the grades here have not been updated since I posted the first version in early April. The Gold Standard is to publish a corrected table every time any grade changes; that I can't do. Almost as good would be to update once a week. I haven't done that so far, but I think I can from now on. It takes 20 minutes or so, but you'd be surprised how hard it can be to find 20 minutes all in one stretch. Or maybe you wouldn't be surprised, since you are City College students and have extremely complicated lives.
You might think that the real gold standard would be to have this display coupled directly to my Excel gradebook (MVC again?), but that would couple things too tightly. Even in servomechanisms you sometimes deliberately introduce something called backlash, which prevents a system from getting itself bound up in knots by trying to respond to every little thing too precisely and too quickly. (Yes, I took a course in servo when I was a programmer on the IBM 704 at the GE jet turbine engine plant north of Cincinnati. And a course in thermodynamics.)
